Device Availability

Availability: The probability a device will be able to perform a given function at a given time.

  • Applied program which calculates the accumulated probabilities of a part during mission timeline. 
  • Predicted when parts which have not been tested under radiation would become unavailable with certainty.
 
  • Applied program create Fault Tree of the satellite by the University of Cadiz 

Device Characterization

  •  Extreme Testing of diodes on MSP430 Microcontroller pictured on the left.
  •  Configuration of Keithley instruments SMU and Switch to find IV characteristics of two and three terminal devices.

Ring Resonator TID Testing

  •  Pictured on the right is a simulated ring resonator from Lamboman2008 on wikipedia.
  • Ring resonator is an optical device which can filter out a certain wavelength of light from an input.
  • Working on a Cobalt 60 total ionizing dose test plan for the device.
  • Designing a probe card to interface with electrical components on ring resonator.

Cloud Chamber

  •  SolidWorks design of the chamber shown on the right.
  • Lower cooling plate mechanism is planned to be dry ice.
  • Panels are designed to be laser cut plexiglass.
